The Life Of The Sons; The Father’s Will Is The Son’s Food

“Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.” (John 4:34).

Some versions put, “my nourishment is to do the will of the Father”. To the sons there is nothing as more nourishing, more pleasurable and sustaining than doing the Father’s will. There was a time the Spirit of God was leading me to study the Bible. I discovered that whenever I sat down with bibles of different versions and bible study tools such as concordance and the rest, I just feel on top of the world.

I feel so happy, I was like, “this is enjoyment”. It feels like my table is filled with chicken, turkey, together with all kinds of delicious delicacies. In my heart I am like, “this is the life, meeeen”. There is this satisfaction inside of me followed by a nourishment, but the nourishment does not come simply because I was studying the word, it comes because I am doing what God wants me to do at that particular time.

There was another time when the Spirit wanted me to write. The day I don’t write I feel so restless and reckless, but when I write and immediately I finish writing it is like my whole day just got brighten up. I feel so happy all through the day, I feel like the day have been fulfilled, there is this satisfaction and nourishment in my spirit. I feel stronger in the spirit; more alive to God.

We have the tendency to want to run away from what God is wanting us to do. The flesh is an enemy of the Spirit; always fighting to do something contrary. But when we align ourselves with the Spirit of Sonship we would realize how enjoyable it is to do the Father’s will. It is our food, our nourishment, our enjoyment.

At that time, when they say, “let’s go and enjoy ourselves”, the first thing that comes to my mind is studying my Bible. That was my definition of enjoyment, that to me is what I call pleasure, real pleasure. There is just nothing as pleasurable as doing the will of the Father. It is just sad that many of us have not aligned themselves with the Son, we are still on the carnal side, overwhelmed with the disgust and irritation that the flesh feels for the things of God.

We must start from now to align ourselves with the Son if we truly want to know Christ. We cannot call him our Lord and savior when we would not yield to him. May the heavenly Father have more sons walk the earth.
